Getting Started
Follow this guide to get started collecting GEO off the map!
Collecting GEO is a very easy and straight forward process. Follow these 5 sections below to get started today!- Register for our site
- Get your account activated as a beta tester
- Login, turn on your GPS and start collecting GEO
- Set an avatar photo for your Discord account. It doesn't have to be your actual photo. It can be any appropriate image you like. If you are unsure how to set your avatar photo follow these instructions
- Follow the server verification requirements. Mentioning where you came from and how you found out about Ubiq helps too, ex. let them know you are interested in helping beta test GeoCoin.
Step 1. Register for our site
To get started you will first need to register for an account on our GeoCashing website at https://geocoin.cash. When you arrive at the homepage, click on the Register button in top right hand corner. This will take you to our Registration page
In order to protect individual user's privacy, we offer an Anonymous Registration. Fill in your desired Username and Password, be sure to also fill in the security Captcha Code and Accept the Terms and Conditions.
We also offer an optional ability to link your account with an email address, this can be helpful in the future if you need to recover a forgotten password.
Step 2. Get your account activated as a beta tester
Once you have completed the anonymous registration process, you will arrive at your main account dashboard. To get to the GeoCashing Interface click on GeoCash in the menu.
At this point you will likely see an "Under Construction" message. This message is displayed to all users currently as we are under development. In order to access the GeoCashing Interface you need to first get your account setup as a beta tester in the backend.
Follow the link provided to join the Ubiq Community Discord server. This is where the Ubiq Community chats about on going developments across the network. Please follow these two steps to get verified by a moderator:
Once you have been verified by one of the Ubiq Community moderators you will gain access to all the other channels hosted on the server. For GeoCoin discussion head on over to the #geo channel where we like to hang out.
Finally to get your account setup as a beta tester send a message with the Username you used to sign up for the GeoCashing Interface to @weifa, either in the #geo channel or via Direct Message. @weifa will track down your Username in the backend and will let you know once you're good to go
Step 3. Login, turn on your GPS and start collecting GEO
Now that you have been setup as a beta tester, login to your account once again and click on GeoCash in the menu. You should get past the "Under Construction" message this time and arrive at the Map.
To start collecting GEO, simply toggle Collect to On in the menu. Make sure to provide permission to share your location with our webpage if your browser asks for permission. The map will then automatically pan and zoom into your location.
Navigate to the nearest location where GEO have been dropped, once your position gets within 5 meters (15 ft) of the location you will collect the cryptocurrency automatically through Proof-of-Location (PoL).
Always be aware of your surroundings when attempting to collect GEO. Failure to do so could result in personal injury or death. For that reason we suggest that users attempt to collect GEO that have been dropped in open public spaces such as Parks, Playgrounds, Green Spaces, Sports Fields or Schoolyards to provide a safe place for collection
We also encourage users to avoid dropping GEO near busy roadways, intersections or dense urban settings to protect the community of users. Be safe and have fun!
Don't see any GEO nearby? No problem!
Head on over to our new PoL GEO Drops Interface, pan and zoom into your local area and drop a magnet by clicking the Drop GEO button. This magnet will attract GEO to nearby green spaces such as parks!
